Medical Credentials and Policies

• Spero’s (previously Blue Water Pregnancy Care Center) lab certification is CLIA Waived: CLIA #23D1037189
• We use laboratory strength urine pregnancy tests administered by licensed nurses and certified staff members only.
• Our proofs of pregnancy are accepted by MIHP, WIC, local doctors’ offices, most insurances, and other medical clinics
• Spero works in cooperation with our local health department, community action agency, and other local social service agencies
• Spero is overseen by our Medical Director who is a local practicing MD in good standing with the State of Michigan
• Our clinic medical staff is overseen by our Director of Nursing, who has her Bachelor of Nursing degree (BSN) and is a licensed nurse (RN)
• We have a complement of 2-4 nurses (RNs) staffing each shift in a given week
• Spero’s Limited diagnostic OB ultrasound scans are verified by both our medical director and a third-party Radiology company
• We follow national medical guidelines issued by American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, American College of Radiology, and American College of OB/GYNs.
• All our materials are evidence based. The CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the FDA, and other medically reliable sources are used to provide sound medical information to our clients and they are reviewed and approved by our Medical Director prior to any client use.
